Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Painter to oversee and execute painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. As a Lead Painter, you will be responsible for guiding a team of painters, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining safety protocols on every job site. Your expertise in various painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing will play a vital role in transforming spaces with precision and professionalism. Responsibilities • Lead and coordinate painting crews on multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to safety regulations. • Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion. • Apply paint using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray systems), and other hand tools with precision. • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and surface specifications to execute detailed painting plans. • Perform structural painting tasks such as drywall finishing, plastering, stucco application, masonry work, and restoration projects. • Ensure all work complies with safety protocols including proper use of respiratory protection, fall protection (ladder use), and handling of hazardous materials. • Conduct quality inspections through visual color comparison and surface assessments to achieve flawless finishes. • Manage construction estimating for painting projects by calculating material needs, labor hours, and project costs. • Maintain all tools and equipment including power tools, paint sprayers (airless and conventional), hand tools, scaffolding, and ladders in excellent condition. • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to interpret technical drawings and schematics for accurate execution. Requirements • Proven experience in construction or industrial painting with a strong background in residential, commercial, or renovation projects. • Expertise in surface preparation techniques such as sanding, caulking, drywall finishing, plastering, and masonry work. • Proficiency with various painting methods including brush painting, roller application, spray painting (airless/conventional), and coating application. • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and surface specifications accurately. • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools (including drills and sanders), scaffolding equipment, ladders safely and effectively. • Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction painting environments; experience with respiratory protection protocols is essential. • Strong understanding of color theory for effective visual color matching and finishing touches. • Basic math skills for estimating material quantities and project costs; experience with construction estimating is a plus. • Excellent communication skills to lead teams effectively while collaborating with clients or project stakeholders. • Valid construction site experience with the ability to interpret technical schematics; carpentry or handyman experience is advantageous.
