Freelance Kids' Art Teacher – Tampa/Brandon/Pasco Area (Contract Basis)

A fun, creative small business headquartered in Tampa, FL, we've spent over 10 years delivering joyful art experiences across the central Tampa Bay region. We specialize in big-group workshops (up to 150 participants), children's classes, after-school programs, field trips at schools, and PTA fundraiser paint nights for schools, clubhouses, and non-profits—primarily in Hillsborough County (central Tampa, Brandon, Lutz, Riverview, and surrounding areas), with some events in Pasco County and nearby spots. Position Overview We're hiring passionate art instructors as independent contractors (1099) for per-event, part-time gigs. This is flexible freelance work—no W-2 status, benefits, withheld taxes, or employment perks. Payment is per session led; you'll manage your own taxes, insurance, and reliable local travel. MUST HAVE drivers license and reliable transportation. Responsibilities • deliver engaging art lessons tailored to children’s age groups and skill levels • Facilitate hands-on art activities that encourage creativity, self-expression, and fine motor development • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment for all students • Prepare necessary art supplies and organize materials efficiently for each session • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their artistic growth • Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding student participation and achievements • Follow all safety protocols and uphold standards of cleanliness and organization in the learning space Experience • Prior experience teaching or working with children in an educational or extracurricular setting is highly preferred • University experience related to education, art, or child development is advantageous • Strong passion for arts education and fostering creativity in young learners • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage children effectively • Ability to adapt lesson plans to diverse learning styles and developmental stages • Strong preference for those already holding active statewide and/or HCPS badges for immediate availability!
