Responsibilities • Clean and sanitize all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following strict food safety sanitizing procedures. • Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients to support chefs and kitchen staff. • Busing tables and clearing plates promptly to maintain a tidy dining area and support smooth service flow. • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other small appliances. • Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, boxes of supplies, and bulk ingredients while adhering to proper lifting techniques to prevent injury. • Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen area in compliance with health and safety regulations. • Support food handling procedures by following food safety management protocols to ensure quality and safety at all times. Skills • Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of kitchen operations. • Strong understanding of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and kitchen health & safety regulations. • Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items safely. • Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, slicers, and mixers. • Basic knife skills for food prep tasks like chopping vegetables or portioning meats. • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. • Previous banquet or culinary experience is a plus for supporting larger-scale food service events.
