Opportunities may become available based on business needs. Department Overview The Electric Operations team is responsible for delivering safe and reliable electric service. They manage all aspects of electrical distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance, construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response. Position Summary This role is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) local 1245. Provisional hires must achieve journey-level knowledge of electrician responsibilities through targeted training as per the Joint Apprentice Training Committee (JATC) requirements. Note: Based on letter of agreement 23-36, new hires in certain divisions can receive a pay premium and face a three-year bid lock. General Construction (GC) For GC roles, candidates should be prepared to travel and relocate within the service area upon request at any time. • Review, verify, and adjust prints and schematics. • Organize materials for installation like conduit and wires. • Move equipment to staging, perform safety preparations. • Use tools for installation, handle wire terminations, and set up rigging. • Operate equipment like crane trucks if qualified. • Maintain clean worksite by clearing debris. • Handle job site driving and equipment transportation. Overtime may be required. Compensation The company expects to offer an initial hourly rate of $68.56 for this position, though actual rates may vary based on collective bargaining agreements and other factors like skills, experience, and location. Qualifications Minimum: • At least 18 years old. • High School diploma or GED. • Valid Class C Driver’s License. • Completion of a Union Sanctioned JATC Inside Wireman Electrician Apprenticeship. • Work in extreme weather and remote locations. • Willingness to relocate within the service area. • Flexibility for varied schedules including nights and weekends. • Capability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). • Must pass provisional training within 12 months if hired as provisional. • Have a CA CDL Class A Permit or equivalent. Desired: • 3-5 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction. • Experience in PG&E construction or utilities. • Knowledge in electronic or mechanical equipment. • Experience with Instrumentation and Control, Motor Control, high voltage, and electrical substations or power generation. • Familiarity with testing equipment and troubleshooting.
